6:30am Kriya – we get an extra half hour of sleep! Kriya is an action or doing something. The owner of this ashram drinks 2 gallons of warm water and pukes them up every morning for his Kriya. Today we did a Netti pot in each nose for our Kriya. That was my first experience with one, pretty hysterical. It’s good to do before pranayama (breathing practice) to clear the sinuses.
7:15-8:30 Pranayama & yoga class
Breakfast and study time
10:30-12:30 Weekly Practical test. We are tested on asanas, salutations, and breathing techniques. We also have to sing/chant a mantra. I did almost everything perfect and pronounced it all correctly 🙂
2-4pm Weekly written test on yoga philosophy. Pretty simple and the dork in me loved being tested. I have missed school and studying and it’s much more fun when it’s on yoga!
Then we are free until Monday morning at 6am! We are planning to visit the Beatles ashram tomorrow. Unfortunately it’s closed down now, but if you pay off the security guard you can enter and walk around.
Then we hope to all go to dinner to an Italian cafe on the other side of the river. Last night we went to the Green Italian cafe and had delicious bruschetta topped with olives and tomatoes. The tomato sauce on my spaghetti wasn’t too great, but the pizza was decent. I finally had a full belly, which resulted in a huge smile plastered on my face all night. Jessie was so happy to finally see me eat! For 2 pizzas, a pasta, an app, 2 tea, and soda we spent 650 rubies which equals $11.53 and we had plenty leftovers. One of the perks of India!
