the Must-Have Baby Item for Traveling Families

and Adventure Families, and Any Family, really.

(this is a sponsored post by @ergobaby_aunz & @thestorknest.nz )

I have to first come off and say, I’m not an expert. Just a mom of two kiddos (four and nine months) and just survived eight weeks of an international trip. Five countries, too many airports and more luggage than ever, not to our liking I will say, and we did it. We survived. Hell, we thrived. Our kids loved it. We had so much fun. We saw so many amazing places, visited countless playgrounds and spent incredible time with our closest family and friends.

We traveled by trains, planes, car rentals and taxis with two kids, two adults, a stroller, two car seats, a pack ‘n play (travel cot), one very large suitcase, one duffel, one carry-on suitcase, two backpacks and one bag packed with snacks and toys (never forget this last one on plane rides).

It was a lot. But there was one constant that saved us. That made travel days much easier, that allowed us to hike amongst the staggering Dolomiti mountains, that gave our bub a place to sleep, that gave my husband and me a chance to wander around Rome at night.

Our Ergobaby Baby Carrier.

This is our number one must-have baby item in our family. For many reasons…

  1. For the days bub just wants to be held and you need to smash out some chores.

  2. For the days you need to get some fresh air. Enjoy a nearby trail to connect with nature, and let your little one too.

  3. For the days of travel (especially when gate-checking a stroller is not an option, cheers New Zealand).

For the times you need to bounce them to sleep in the back of the plane, hidden behind a curtain while the cabin crew checks on you.

Or for the times you need to sleep on the plane while bub sleeps in the carrier, I promise you your arms will thank you later.

4. For the family adventures, in the mountains, on the trails, strolling around big cities.

5. For when you want a personal heater. Seriously, a warm bub on you is the best jacket you can put on. And on the hot days, you’ll be glad you went with an Ergobaby Omni-Breeze that keeps you cool when the sun is bright.

6. For sharing the weight with your partner and the ease of adjusting the straps to fit different-sized bodies. We’ve had a range of carriers and this one is by far the easiest to adjust and bub feels so secure.

7. For bub to enjoy a new perspective. Our son loves facing out and is happy in our carrier for hours on end. We can also easily change it back to forward-facing or switch it around to carry our little one on our backs.

As I said, we’re big fans of our Ergobaby carrier and it’s 100% the item we always recommend to new parents. There is an overwhelming amount of baby items brands push you to buy once pregnant, but this one. This one is a must and investing in a good one, that’s supportive for both you and bub is important.

The back support on the Ergobaby Omni Breeze is wonderful for me, speaking from one who suffers from sciatica and back pain.

Its little front pocket is perfect for phones, keys, wallets and the tucked-away hood is perfect to safely cover bub’s head from the sun or light. And the bonus is you never have to worry about remembering to pack a hat.

Many don’t believe you can continue your adventures or travels once you have kids, but you can.

It may be a bit more effort, but with the right support and mindset, you can do it.

It gives you the opportunity to watch your children take in the world from their point of view. I promise you it’s the best thing.

As I type this, I want to go jet-set off to another continent, another country.

My heart lies in travel and I’m so glad I can continue to do it with my family.

Thanks, of course to the help of Ergobaby :)

If you have any questions on Ergobaby, baby carriers in general, traveling with babies, kids, anything at all really, reach out.

I’m always happy to help.
