Absolute Bliss
I’m happy, high really - from life, from my current situation or simply because I’m sitting on my front porch feeling the last few rays of sun hit my skin while butterflies dance around me and the cicadas stir as if they're celebrating the end of the day. This feeling that sometimes overtakes my body is indescribable. It happens as soon as I walk into a hair salon (which I rarely do). It happens randomly when I’m alone, setting up at work. It happened often in India in sacred places where I would sit and be in the moment. It’s hedonistic, a form of ecstasy or euphoria that makes my whole body feeling like I’m floating. I want to hold onto it forever and as I type these words, I’m trying to, but I feel it slipping away.
I attempt to meditate, to make it last longer, but I know eventually it will fade and I’ll forget about it until it randomly happens again. But is it random? Why do we have these moments of pure calming bliss? Is it energy I’m receiving from the sun? Or a high from a recent delivery of a pretty dress I just came home to or is it just a natural chemical released in my brain? I don’t understand it, I might never, but I can’t help to wonder does anyone else feel something similar? Something completely natural, no drugs, no alcohol, a high that is unexplainable and absolutely incredible? I hope so.
That’s all,
Viktoria
